The challenge

What we had to solve.

  • Show the size of the golf grounds and how they blend into the landscape, something you can’t do from the ground.
  • Capture the resort at its best, during the day and at sunset.
  • Our brief was to deliver a complete set of material: photos, a film and short videos ready for the website, ads and social media.
  • The video had to work in landscape on the website and in portrait on social media, without a second shoot.
  1. 01

    Shot planning

We planned the flight paths and shot order in advance: the grounds in daylight first, then the clubhouse, course and surroundings in the warm light at sunset.

  2. 02

    Everything in RAW

We shot every photo in RAW, so in editing we could recover detail from the shadows and the bright sky while keeping the colour of the grass natural.

  3. 03

    Three shots, not five

We shot every frame as three exposures (−1 / 0 / +1 EV) with a fast shutter. Five would have produced a blurred image as the drone moved in the wind; three give a sharp result with the full range of light.

  4. 04

4K video in a LOG profile

We shot the video in 4K in a flat LOG profile, which keeps the most information in highlights and shadows and leaves room for colour work in post-production.

  5. 05

    Landscape, framed for social

We shot horizontally but used the grid to frame every shot so it can be cropped to portrait for reels. If the client changes their mind, they also have the full landscape shots.

  6. 06

    Colour grading and editing

We graded the LOG footage in professional software to one warm resort look and edited the photos from RAW, so the whole set feels like one series.

  7. 07

    Delivered within 3 days

64 edited photos, up to 10 GB in total, a 0:58 film and three reels, sorted by use: website, ads and social media.

Deliverables

What we delivered.

A sunset drone video, shot in 4K LOG and colour graded, ties the whole resort together in one smooth shot.
  • Clubhouse and facilities from above. The angle shows the buildings and how they link to the grounds, the access road and the tees.
  • A hole with a water hazard. Flying higher at a steeper angle brings out the contours of the course and the landscape.
  • A near top-down shot of the green and bunkers. The course design reads like a map, a strong visual for social media.
“They handled tailored drone photography of the whole resort for us, from the buildings to the sunset. The quality of the shots is top-notch.”
